This is a man of many talents; a man with expertise and experiences too many to mention but we will touch on some. Welcome, to the Goffers Golf Society.
What do we know of him? Well, you don’t argue with this man. An ex- police boxing champion who has purported to be on the same “bill”- ha! ha! – as Brian London – that well known heavyweight boxing champion of Great Britain in the 1960’s or was it the1950’s. Anyway what biceps! Can outdrive all other members of the Society on his day. Thank God that is not very often, usually likes to draw the ball from right to left adjacent fairways!
What else! He knows all about the “arm of the law” – would you argue with him with biceps like his. Has 30 odd years experience as an upholder of law and order, will be particularly an asset for our foreign golfing excursion. He will come to the “fore” when we try to access border entry to that well known land where the natives speak with a daft accent and don’t sound their “rrr’s” correctly, viz a viz Jonathan Ross? Another notable point, has obtained diplomatic immunity because he is a trained language interpreter – he speaks OZ.
Now what about his golf! A man of many handicaps. Is it 21, 22, 23, or 24 – a handicap for every season. The “net” result is that on his day he can match his age – 68 – a remarkable achievement. A meeting to discuss his handicap is a must before we go away.
A well travelled man – he has 2 daughters in Australia. His “bush” sense should prove to be a further asset at these Welsh courses with all the heather about. He will sniff those golf balls out! He is also well – healed, has shaken the hand of that mild mannered, clean living Aussie fast bowler Brett Lee – the scourge of English cricketers.
A man of many “drivers” – he must have at least 6 on permanent loan from the Pro Shop. Talking about old pros he has an interest in shop keeping, he is an excellent computer typisssst!! Or is that meant to be pisssart???. Joking apart he looks after us in the “shop” on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
